EVALUATION It is strongly recommended
that some form of evaluation be conducted at the conclusion of an event,
to provide feedback for the organisers and sponsors, and to inform the planning
of future events. A minimal but informative evaluation can be conducted
using a simple questionnaire (Microsoft Word
.doc file, 35 KB). It is good practice
to make photographic and video records of the event. If you intend publishing
any photographs or video clips of children participating in your event
(e.g. in publicity materials or on a website), then you'll need to obtain
written permission from their parents/guardians (this is best done at the
event, by the photographer or an assistant). A formal evaluation
of the educational benefits of a large regional, national or international
schools event will involve making video records of the activities and
of structured interviews with participants and their teachers. To ensure
this is done properly, it should be performed by a professional evaluator. |
